Just installed mobile app on DROID X. Viewfinder opens when I click the camera icon under Step 1. Take a Picture but when I try to take a pic, I get an error: "Oops, unable to open camera. Please try again later."

Thanks for any assist you can provide!

    Hello Jeff,
Thank you for the bug report. We're currently working to update the app for newer android phones. In the mean time, you can still report issues without taking a picture - although it isn't as much fun.

Please check back with us in a few weeks. Sorry for the delay.

Looks like it's almost the same problem on the HTC Evo. Camera is activated from a touch screen icon - in the SCF app, there's no way to acces the camera. Hope it's fixed soon.

for those who have problems with their camera app after the froyo update - here is a fix that may work for you- open up "gallery" and see if there is any "blank" image, it will be just a gray icon with no image content, usually it's the last one in the camera folder, if you see any of such blank files, delete them, and then try the camera again.
if the above step doesn't solve your problem, download an app called "andExplorer", go to sdcard, then rename the folder "dcim" to something else, like "dcim2", then, create a new "dcim" folder, within the folder, you need to create another three sub folders - namely, Camera, ".thumbnails", ".spmo", then, open up your gallery again, and let the phone reindex all the photos before you try your camera again.

the camera issue seems to be caused by "blank" images (files of 0 KB).

Thanks Droid y! I can't believe you had such an easy fix for me! Just deleted the gray image, and the camera started working again. Everything seems to be working faster now actually!

One additional aspect of the problem: I had no "blank" frames, but one image was partially blank (the top 20% was normal, the rest blank). Camera would not work until I deleted that image - then all was OK. The only remaining question is why the camera malfunctioned in such a way as to produce the partially blank image? In any case, the comments in this discussion pointed mein the right direction. Thanks to all.

Don't have any blank or grey images... but all I'm getting when I try to use the camera is a black screen and shutter button. When pressing the shutter button, the entire screen is just black, and nothing happens.
    help?

    Hello Emma,
I have the Droid 2 Global, not sure of an "app" that you're referring to (please excuse my obvious ignorance, I'm trying to learn ASAP!) But when trying to use ANY app that uses the camera, I get a black screen. (regular camera, video, Facebook photo, myfitnesspal bar code scanner, etc).

    Hi Bri,

Are you experiencing difficulty with the SeeClickFix app in particular? If so, do you know what version you're using?

Or are you experiencing problems with your phone in general? It sounds like your camera doesn't work with other apps and may not be something we can resolve. Let us know how we can assist on our end!

    Cheers,
    Megan

I didn't realize this was DROID X page. This is for my HTC Incredible. The camera worked and took 5 pictures this morning. Then the device reset itself and now camera doesn't work again :(

    Lindsey,

Thanks again for your message, and I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble with your phone. With that said, I'm still not sure how SeeClickFix's app relates to this. I'd like to try to help you, but I need more information about how you used the app if you think it caused this problem.

To be honest, this seems like a problem that goes beyond the scope of our app. With that said, we want to assist you to be sure of that. We just need your assistance in providing more details about what happened to do this.

    Regards,

    Kevin
