Hi Kevin,
There has been an update on the translation module layout, which is rather welcome, but it makes it impossible to navigate between pages (you are stuck on the first page). Could you fix that? (or tell me where to find the "next page" button ;o)

    Hey Damien,

Thanks for pointing this out. Would it be possible for you to pass along one of your helpful screenshots highlighting the problem? This would be really useful in describing to the tech team what the actual problem is. I don't mean to give you "assignments," but I know that you like to get the issues resolved as quickly as possible, so I figured you wouldn't mind taking this step.

    Would that be possible?

See attached Kevin, no button at the top nor the bottom of the page to go to the next / previous page, nor to choose a given page by its number.

    Hi Kevin,

As I am currently working on the translations, I have discovered that once a field is translated, it moves seemingly randomly up or down the list. This lengthen the translation time, as you have to browse regularly to find the next untranslated field.
    Could that be fixed?

And in addition, the length of the field to translate is too short: you see only a short portion of the phrase to translate, and each time you click on the translation field the text in the field to be translated goes back to the line start. It makes translating fields with long text very tedious.
Could you increase the length of these fields?

    Hi Kevin,
    The new interface is great!

There are still two key things to fix in my opinion:
1/ there is still a random re-arrangement of fields when you translate one (it moves up or down the list once translated)
2/ a button to list all untranslated fields would be welcome

    Hi Kevin,
After a short translation session, here are some more issues:
3/ the fields are still too short for long phrases to translate: each time I browse in the English text to get to the end of the line, and then click in the translation line, the english text is moved back to the beginning. Could you have the English field display the text on two or 3 lines, to have everything appear on screen without having to browse ?
4/ the links to the following pages do not work: if I click on any page number at the bottom of the page, I am always coming back to the first page of translations field.
5/ the "search" feature does not seem to be working properly: if I want to translate the "Get the App" button at the top of my screen, wether I type in "Get the App" or "Get+the+app", the search does not find anything.

Some more work for your developers ;o)

    Cheers,
    Damien

    Damien,

I'll be happy to help you with these concerns.

3/Could you send me a screen shot of the field that is not large enough for the text? This would help to illustrate the problem.

4/When you say that the links are not working, which links are you referring to?

I'm going to bring these concerns to the attention of our tech team, so they should be addressed quickly.

    Regards,

    -Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
Issue #4 where the link to following pages does not work is a big issue, as it does not allow me to do any translation work. Could you chase the tech guys to ask them to fix this asap? ;o)

    It's fixed indeed! Thanks.

    Now there are still # 1, 2, 3 and 5 to fix ;o)

Actually, #4 fixed leads to an issue #6 now: each time I save the modifications in a translation field, I am brought back to page 1 of the translation module. To translate the next field, I have to click again on the page I was translating on, which is unnecessarily time-consuming. Can you pass this along to the tech team?

    Hi Kevin,
There have been no new fields to translate added to the translation module for some time now, while it is obvious that on the site many new fields have been added.
Do you have an outlook for the updating of the translation module?

I am glad to see that new fields have been added to be translated ;o)

And now issue #3 regarding the size of fields is fixed.

However, the following issues are still open:
#1 there is still a random re-arrangement of fields when you translate one (it moves up or down the list once translated)

#2 a button to list all untranslated fields would be welcome

#5 the "search" feature does not seem to be working properly: if I want to translate the "Get the App" button at the top of my screen, wether I type in "Get the App" or "Get+the+app", the search does not find anything.

#6 each time I save the modifications in a translation field, I am brought back to page 1 of the translation module. To translate the next field, I have to click again on the page I was translating on, which is unnecessarily time-consuming.

And there is a new issue I have just discovered:

#7 when you click on a field to translate, the fields which are displayed on the next page are both blank (both the original field, and the translation field). See attached screenshot for an example.

    Hi Kevin (or Ben),
I'm glad to see there has been progress!
Issue #7 has been fixed. And issue #1 also seems to have been fixed, with the alphabetical sorting of issues. And regarding issue #5, the search engine now works properly!
And maybe issue #2 also, but I am not sure I want to try the "Translate All Missing Translations": can you confirm if it automatically translates all fields without translation (using Google Translate or the like) or does it display only fields lacking a translation?

Issue #6 is definitely NOT fixed.

Anyway, it's great to see some of these issues fixed - it's now time to continue adding new fields to the translation module, as there are many which cannot be translated currently.

    Damien,

For issue #2: that will not automatically try to create translations. Instead, it takes you through a simple interface that gives you only those modules that have yet to be translated. You'll be given one at a time, so fill them out at your leisure and keep clicking "Save and View Next Missing Translation".

For issue #6: I think you're right here. Could you give me a couple of the modules you've seen that are too long/cause this error? That will greatly help us track it down!

    Hi Ben,

I confirm issue #2 is fixed, yipee!
Issue #6 is not the fields too long. It is :
#6 each time I save the modifications in a translation field, I am brought back to page 1 of the translation module. To translate the next field, I have to click again on the page I was translating on, which is unnecessarily time-consuming.

One issue left to fix, and then the translation module will be great!

    Hey Damien,

Thanks for the clarification, and I have confirmed that on my end as well.

For the time being, does using the "Translate All Missing Translations" feature work so that you are not automatically dropped back to page 1?

    Hi Ben,
I've just seen that many new translation items have been added to the translation tool, however it seems that a large part of them are duplicates of items already existing.
Could you check this out, and remove the duplicates?
