I closed an issue. Why is it still on the map?

You've closed an issue on SeeClickFix.

Congratulations for being a conscientious member of your community, or if you are a Public Works Department, for responding to citizen needs!

But now you still see the issue on the map. Why?

We allow closed issues to rest on the map for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they disappear from the map and are archived. There are a few reasons behind this waiting period.

1) The meaning of "closed" is subjective. Sometimes neighbors aren't satisfied with a fix, and want to reopen an issue after its closed because they think it could have been fixed more thoroughly. If the closed issue disappeared right away, no one would know about it and would not be able to re-open it if necessary.

2) It's important for users to see some fixed issues on the map. It shows them that the government is responding to their requests and that SeeClickFix is helping get stuff done.
